Painting Practice

If you remember my Drey picture : [link] I was experimenting with painting shade. Originally I was going to paint it like this one, but I decided not to.
But after a month I tried again, I failed as you can see :C

It doesn't look like how I imagined in my head ._.

I'll try again. If you joined me in a join me before, I drew this character, except I only got to the pine green and pale yellow color. As someone said before to give it colors of a parrot.
It still has those wings for arms but they would've been hard to paint :I

I know the paws look stupid, but any crit is welcome o u o Please help, I need your advice D: Thanks
